We are nearing the end of the week! I practically consider it Thursday now that I’m home from work, and Thursday means it’s almost Friday, so it’s basically the weekend, right?! Haha.
I had big plans to do a long run this morning despite being warned that it was going to rain. However, when my alarm went off, I discovered it wasn’t just raining, it was pouring. No way was I going to go running in that weather. Not worth getting sick or hurt. So instead I slept an extra two hours. Boy that felt nice! Instead, I went to a Zumba class 🙂 I’m going to try my long run tomorrow morning. The weather is supposed to be good then 🙂 Yesterday, I did another strength routine at the gym. Unlike my workout on Sunday, I didn’t do the cardio intervals because I had done a pretty hard run the day before and this was supposed to be an easier day. I completed very similar strength circuits targeting the major muscle groups and also a couple smaller muscle groups. It was a quick 45 min workout, but it was productive! My next strength workout will be Friday (trying to do weights 2-3 times a week!)
Yesterday, I prepared all my meals and today I ate leftovers 🙂 That’s what happens when you make multiple servings and are used to cooking for three to four people at a time!
For breakfast yesterday, I ate brown rice that I sweetened with honey and a protein shake! I read about the rice and honey in Runner’s World Magazine and had to try it. It was yummy 🙂 My lunch consisted of a salad, and sides of mushroom, hummus, and a smoothie. For dinner I made a delicious dish of pesto shrimp brown rice pasta!! I also ate snicker doodles that my roommate made 🙂 Today, I was a little more boring and ate fruit for breakfast, leftover soup and chicken potstickers for lunch, and brown rice with hummus, mushrooms and corn for dinner. I also ate cereal and later frozen mango for dessert. And I’ve also been eating my office snacks that I brought to work this week. Tomorrow I only have to worry about bringing breakfast. We have lunch provided at work. I wonder what we will be having??
