Harvard Square

Today I found myself back in Harvard Square. I have a feeling I’m going to be back there a lot more than I thought. It’s almost like I never left. Hahaha. I went there this morning to meet up with my Sarah for an early morning run! We meant to only run 4 miles; however, we ended up running nearly 5.5 miles. We ran towards Somerville and then headed to East Cambridge and looping back to the square. Then I jogged/walked back home (I also jogged/walked to the square from home). In the end, I totaled almost 9 miles! Not bad for a Saturday morning run. 🙂 When I came home I ate a Lara bar and then joined my roommates in Buns of Steel, which is an 80’s exercise video that targets the legs and glutes. Man that video really works! I definitely felt it! I then finished my breakfast of puffed rice rolls, and honey, flsx and almond cereal.

Soon afterwards, I got ready to meet up with my future co-workers at Harvard. There are four of us starting together on Monday, which is pretty exciting! We had tried to meet up while we were still at school in the Spring, but couldn’t get our schedules to line up. We all got lunch together at Darwin’s, a local sandwich shop. I ordered the Mt. Auburn, a turkey sandwich with avocado, tomato, lettuce, herb vinaigrette, pesto, and cheddar on sourdough. Delicious!! We ate lunch at the park nearby and had a wonderful time talking our summers, work, and life in the real world.

After chatting for almost two hours in the sun, we decided it was time for some frozen yogurt. We went to my favorite frozen yogurt place, Berryline. It’s so good! Their yogurt is slightly tart (not vanilla), not too sweet, but full of flavor! And that’s only the original! All the other flavors are original with the other ingredients mixed in 🙂 I had cantaloupe and raspberry lime side by side. Normally I get toppings, but this time I just wanted the yogurt!

Eventually, I left Harvard Square and headed back towards home! I spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home, organizing some of my belongings, and watching a little tv.
For dinner, I fixed up a hodgepodge of food – kale and red bell pepper with Spanish olive oil and raspberry balsamic vinegar, grilled lemon chicken, avocado, and mozzarella tomato salad (which I got earlier from Darwin’s). Later for dessert, I had blueberries and nuts while watching Orange is the New Black and later the movie Because I Said So. Yay Saturday movie night. I’m also waiting for my sister to arrive from Europe. I can’t wait to see her beautiful face!! 🙂 It’s been way too long!

Enjoy your Saturday nights!
