Vacation was awesome! It’s amazing how much a week away from your regular routine can relax you. However, now that I am rejuvenated I am ready to go back to Cambridge and get back on schedule. Usually I do some sort of workout every single day but someone once told me that when you’re on vacation you have to take a break from everything. I still got a few workouts in which was great but I can’t wait to get back on the field with Less. I miss all of my friends! The last few days on the vineyard were a real treat. We went to the beach everyday, I finally finished my book (!), and got to spend some much needed quality time with the family. I didn’t get a picture of ALL of the food that I ate but I can tell you that I enjoyed a few scoops of ice cream here and there and maybe one too many desserts. That’s what people do on vacay right??
On the island I noticed that there were a lot of specialty food stores and farms that sold an assortment of different goodies. One of my favorites was Morning Glory Farms. ( http://morninggloryfarm.com/ ) I loved their zucchini bread! It is super moist and not too sweet. You can see little bits of zucchini in the bread which makes it look healthy even if it isn’t. I’m bringing a loaf back to share with Less. I think she’ll like it!
On the last night in the vineyard we had a lobster feast. I was served a whole lobster and was told to “dig in”. I was a bit confused at first but my mom said that it was already cracked apparently so I did what I was told, dug in and found the lobster meat. It was excellent! I wasn’t sure how much I would like lobster, but with a side of corn on the cob and a bit of clarified butter I was quite pleased. We then had dessert. It was a strawberry and blueberry reduction served with vanilla ice cream and pound cake. I think I need to take a break from desserts for a few
I am headed back to Cambridge tonight. I can’t wait to see Less!
