Greetings from the Vineyard!

Hello everyone! It’s Jess.

These past couple of days have been a blast. Hanging out with my family has been super relaxing and much needed considering I spend my summer up in Boston. Yesterday we went to South Beach in the morning. Don’t get me wrong, it is definitely a beautiful beach but unfortunately it was a bit cold. My mother and sister thought the temperature was just fine but considering that I am always cold, I decided that I would just bundle up in my towel and enjoy the scenery. We stayed at the beach for about an hour before leaving to grab lunch. We did a quick bathroom stop at the house and then drove to a small general store in Katama to grab a bite to eat. We ended up buying a sweet potato salad( I LOVE SWEET POTATOES), a beet salad, some cole slaw, and two different sandwiches to split between the four of us. I had half of the turkey sandwich which was on a baguette with a bit of bacon, lettuce, tomato, swiss, and an avocado aioli. It was so good! My favorite part of this lunch was obviously the sweet potato salad. I had to go back for seconds, I mean thirds. After lunch we decided that we needed to see more of the island so we took to the maps and decided to take a trip out to the Aquinnah Cliffs. It was so relaxing. The cliffs were absolutely gorgeous, and it was nice to explore another part of the island. By the time we got back from the cliffs it was time to figure out what we were having for dinner. Unfortunately I was unable to get a proper workout in yesterday but hey, it’s vacation, I should be able to take one day off right? For dinner we decided on The Wharf in downtown Edgartown. By the time we got there, were seated and got our food I was starving. I dove in so quickly I forgot to take a picture. I ordered the summer salad which was arugula, blueberries, strawberries and pecans. I added some grilled shrimp for texture and flavor. It was a solid meal. After dinner we headed back home where we played a few fun family games and watched an episode of Cake Boss. Yesterday was a great day.
