Unfortunately it is a bit cold today, but the cold weather must have sparked a desire for comfort food in both of us. We both included potatoes in our lunches (If you haven’t already been able to tell, Less’ food always looks more appetizing then Jess’)! Less ran from the labs to the dining hall where she made a beautiful salad, with a side of fries, H2O on the side. The salad consisted of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, beets, brown rice, peas, corn, red onion, green peppers, and feta cheese topped with balsamic vinegar, oregano and black pepper. I think it is safe to say that Less is the ultimate salad maker. Jess on the other hand struggles when it comes to variety. She had yet again, another sweet potato mixed with plain greek yogurt and some cinnamon. She is going away this weekend so maybe she will be able to mix it up a bit over the next week!
Two nights ago we were trying to figure out the difference between a sweet potato and a yam. Is there a difference? Jess said that her sweet potato today seemed a bit “grainy”. We’re confused.
Can anyone tell us the difference between a sweet potato and a yam?
