I hope you all enjoyed your weekends! I can’t believe Sunday is already over. I’m still getting used to this whole two day weekend thing. For my last year in college I had 3 day weekends (minus the one section I had on Fridays last fall), so now only have Saturdays and Sundays off feels kind of short! And right now, I have only been working half days on Fridays. September is going to feel a lot different, but I’m sure I’ll be used to my routine by then :)
I slept in both today and yesterday and it felt amazing, but I also lost part of my mornings. So worth it though! Yesterday, I made myself cereal for breakfast/brunch (I wasn’t in the mood to cook haha), and later ate some blueberries, granola, and nuts. I did some cleaning after and then watched a movie with my roomies before taking a nap :) Then I went to the gym! I did a lifting workout, consisting of three different circuits:
1. Reverse lunges (set of 12/leg with weights)
3. Push-ups (set of 15)
2. Lateral pull-downs
4. 0.25 mile treadmill sprint
1. Push press (set of 10 with weights)
2. Box jumps (set of 10)
3. Row (set of 10)
4. 0.5 mile treadmill sprint (0.25 mile at 4.0 uphill and 0.25 mile at 8.0 uphill)
1. Calf raises (12 with weights)
2. Oblique crunches (12 each side with weights)
3. Sit ups on a yoga ball (set of 20)
4. Chin ups (using the machine, set of 10)
5. Dips (using machine, set of 10)
6. Hamstring lift (set of 10)
I was beat at the end! For dinner I made chicken potstickers with green cabbage, broccoli, portabello mushrooms, red onion, salt and pepper with garlic hummus on the side! I ate frozen mango and chocolate truffles for dessert :)
Today I actually made myself oatmeal on the stove :) Later, I went to the pool with my college roommate where we enjoyed a delicious lunch and sun bathed/swam around a bit in the pool. For lunch I ordered a caprese sandwich and a fruit salad on the side. It was super hot out so we got a lot of sun and Vitamin D :) But that also meant we were pretty dehydrated for Flywheel, despite all the water we drank! Spin class was fun, but tiring. It was with one of our favorite instructors :) Then we went to Trader Joe’s and eventually I made my way home and prepared dinner- tomato and red pepper soup with balsamic chicken, kale, spinach, quinoa, and pepper! Yummy yummy. For dessert, I made myself a fruit parfait of frozen mango, fresh blueberries, granola, nuts, and drank orange juice on the side!
